Hi! I’m Anna Chester, a full-stack software engineer in Toronto.
I build production web, mobile, and backend systems, and I own them from the empty repo through release. Day to day that means ZEVA, a consumer product, and HAIL Admin, the operations console behind it. The rest is client work I run on my own.
What I build
At ZEVA I work across Angular, Django, Flutter, and PostgreSQL. I built the cross-platform referral and promotions engine, shipped on-device verification with Flutter ML Kit, and wired up geofencing, live maps, and Tesla OAuth. I am the sole frontend owner of HAIL Admin, the operations console behind the product: fleet onboarding, organization management, invite-based signup, per-user access control, and white-label theming.
Banu Beauty is a live commerce build I shipped solo, from schema to checkout to deploy. Prime Accounts Inc was an authentication and hardening contract on a legacy PHP site: sign-in broken outright, a submission guard copy-pasted into two dozen handlers, no bundler and no rewrite on the table. I shipped it with an eight-suite regression harness.
Background
I studied computer science at the University of Toronto, an Honours BSc as a Computer Science Specialist, and taught there throughout: four courses and 1,000+ students, where I reviewed Python, Java, Angular, and Android work and debugged alongside them.
Before ZEVA I did a software engineering co-op at DBRS Morningstar, building across Angular, Node.js, .NET, and MySQL. I led the SonarQube rollout there, so analysis ran on every commit and pull request.
